Saucony Flo50 Summer Training Blog: Dalton Hengst

Summer Training, Week 6: July 27th- August 2nd

This week I'll be in Ocean City, Maryland. It's nice and flat with not much to see. I'll have a lot of good training partners which will be really nice!

Monday July 27th - I ran with Brady Wilt for 6 miles at 6:15 pace. First 3 miles were fast as we were clocking 6:05, but second part of the run we slowed it down a bit.

Tuesday July 28th - Ran with noemie for 7 miles at 7:15 pace. At our turn around point we found a hotel's pool to cool down in before finishing the run.

Wednesday July 29th - I found out my teammate Dylan Orrell was down as the beach so I ran with him around a park for 6 miles. It was a nice run with lots of catching up at 6:40 pace.

Thursday July 30th - Ran with noemie and Maddie McLain for 6.5 @ 7:10 pace. The run was early morning so it was nice and cool compared to the mid day runs I have been doing. We are good friends with the McLain family. Maddie is a upcoming sophomore that runs in York, PA. She'll have a good and fast upcoming season in Cross.

Friday July 31st - ran with Noemie for 5 miles @6:55 pace. A nice selfie to go with it. (picture below)

Saturday August 1st - 6 miles with Maddie @ 7 min pace.

Sunday August 2nd - Before leaving the beach to go home I wanted my last run to be fast. So I decided to do a time trial as a workout. I wanted to do a 10k trial. So I ran a 10k in 35:20- 5:40 pace. The run was flat which was nice. I didn't go all out, I would say maybe 90 percent.

This week was good one for some miles. The upcoming week I will really get away from flat roads and start to focus on some hills.

Week mileage- 42.5
