Summer Training, Week 5: July 20th - July 26th

This week I started to add agility and upper body strength into play. My dad, my coach, and myself have been strong believers in the cross training scene ever since I quit soccer in the spring. I also will add in some quicker running.

Monday July 20th - I woke up to the terrible words of my dad saying, " get dressed, we are going to Sam Lewis" which holds my middle school cross country course. The course is no joke. I ran 5 miles while pushing the hills, and finished down at the track with some drills. I did some sets of stairs, line jumps, shuttle runs, and just some nice quick striders. Went to the gym with my dad that night and did abs and some weights. Did a lot reps on little weight.

Tuesday July 21st - I met Matt Marcini to run at Rocky Ridge, a nearby park. We ran on trails for an hour and picked it up the last 10 minutes. Gym- core and weights.

Wednesday July 22nd- Did 7 miles in the early morning. I did a run that I used to do once a year in middle school. I ran through some trails until I found a guard rail and jumped it, after escaping the woods I ran to Cool Creek road which is a mile long uphill. Took me about 50 min. Gym- core and weights

Thursday July 23rd- Ran 6 miles on a nearby rail trail section. Real flat, a great place for fast running. Legs were feeling very good so I decided to really push pace and ran 6 in 36:04

Friday July 24th- Marcini, Justin Krebbs, and I ran at Rocky Ridge. I ran for about 45 min and they went for 80 min. Relaxed and good running. After the run I spent the day at Hershey park!

Saturday July 25th - I decided to use a public 5k for a tempo run. I did a 20 min warm-up, ran the 5k in 16:22, and did a cool down run for 25 min.

Sunday July 26th -off
