Summer Training, Week 2: June 6th - July 5th

Monday June 29th - Left for Illinois at 5am. Made the 10 hour drive with my dad. I always have enjoyed the long trips and car rides with my team or my dad. Seeing and experiencing new parts of the country and meeting the new people. In the evening, did 3 miles.

Tuesday June 30th - Decided to focus on 1500. Preliminary 1500 heat was cancelled. Did 2 miles

Wednesday July 1st- 1500 USA Track and Field World Youth Championships Trials in lisle, Illinois. Finished 2nd and ran a 3:58.58. Overall decent time and a good race against good competition. Disappointed I wasn't selected to go to IAAF World Youth Championships in Cali, Colombia. Hopeful for the future though.

Thursday July 2nd - Made drive back, met cross country teammates in Maryland that evening did a 6 mile trail run with team, 150's at end. Camped out with team.

Friday July 3rd - Spent the day with Andrew and Lucas. Took the day off just to let my body recover a bit from Illinois.

Saturday July 4th - Planned a track workout but moved it to Sunday due to track closed. Turned into a run home from the track. 5 and a decent hill workout too!
