Saucony Flo50 Summer Training Blog: Dalton Hengst

Summer Training, Week 3: July 6th - July 12th

Monday July 6th - Did a 9 mile run with Matt Marcini. Matt is an Olympic trials qualifier for the marathon and ran for Eastern Michigan in his collegiate career. He's one of top distance runners around and whenever I come back to PA from school I am very lucky to be able to train with him. He has let me tag along the last couple years on training runs and really helped me improve in my running.

On a cool side note, about 4 miles in we came close to a family of bald eagles so we stopped for a couple of minutes to admire.

Tuesday July 7th- No running, wisdom teeth out!

Wednesday July 8th- Still recovering from wisdom teeth

Thursday July 9th- Light run at home on treadmill. 2 miles @8:15 pace

Friday July 10th - Ran with matt Marcini and another top distance runner Justin Krebs in our area. Krebs is another massive talent that has done very well in the Boston marathon on many occasions and like Marcini has speed for shorter races too. It's so great to push myself on runs with these guys and to learn so much. 8 miles at 6:40 pace. Felt good, legs were fresh. It felt good to be recovering from the wisdom teeth so well.

Saturday July 11th - One last track workout for the year.
