The 2025 cross country season is all but finished, with one more race scheduled for this Saturday at historic Balboa Park. The inaugural Brooks XC Championship replaces the Foot Locker Nationals meet, but is contested in the same format as the ultimate long-standing individual national championships.
At the 2017 Foot Locker national meet, Malibu's Claudia Lane (CA) cruised to a 17:03.40 en route to her second consecutive title. In her second appearance at Balboa Park, Lane set the 18th fastest time in venue history.
