Thirteen-year-old Camryn Dailey may not be in high school yet, but she's already rewriting the record books.
On the opening day of the 2025 New Balance Outdoor Nationals, Dailey delivered a stunning performance in the Middle School Girls 100m, leaving both spectators and the broader track world stunned. In the prelims, she clocked a fast 11.39 seconds with a legal +1.6 m/s wind, to set a new age group world best. Her time not only eclipsed the 11.87 meet record set by Parker Coes just a year ago, but also erased the age-13 group world record of 11.53 set by Melanie Doggett in 2024.
And she wasn't done.
In the final, Dailey backed up her performance with another 11.3 clocking, this time 11.35 - though aided by a +2.5 m/s wind. Still, she won the race by over four-tenths of a second, dominating a field of top youth sprinters, showing her prelim wasn't a fluke, it was a statement.
Her record-breaking sprint comes on the heels of an already unreal season. Earlier this spring, Dailey posted an 11.59 (NWI) at the James Carter Invitational as well as an 11.68 at the Durham Striders Invitational. But it's not just in the 100m where she's turning heads - she's clocked 22.90 seconds over 200m and an almost unbelievable 51.67 in the 400m, run in early June. That 400m time not only puts her in elite company for her age - it would place her among the top U.S. high schoolers and even college freshmen. And she's just 13.
There's no telling what the future holds for Camryn Dailey. But one thing is clear: the future of sprinting has arrived, and she's still in seventh grade.
