Headlined by the the 2025 Arcadia Invitational, this past weekend of competition produced national records alongside hundreds of PBs around the country.
The National Performer of the Week poll will close at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, April 17, and the winner will be announced shortly after.
Take a look at five of the top-performing girls from last weekend in outdoor track & field.
This Week's Nominees:
Jane Hedengren, Timpview (Utah): After her historic indoor campaign, it shouldn't have been any surprise that Hedengren was going to run something quick at the Arcadia Invitational. From the gun, Hedengren took off and was in a land of her own for the next eight laps, already five seconds ahead of the field after 400m. Hedengren went on to run 9:34.12, the fastest 2-mile ever ran by a high school girl. En route to her national record, the BYU signee snagged both the 3000m (8:57) and 3200m (9:30) national records as well, pairing nicely with her five (1500, 1600, Mile, 3000, 5000) national records she set during the indoor season.
Elise Cooper, McDonogh (Md.): At the All American Track Classic, the future Texas Longhorn won othe 100m and 400m with new PBs. In the 100m, Cooper clocked 11.40 to lower season best by nearly three-quarters of a second, following that up with a 52.23 win over 400m. Cooper won the 100m by five-hundredths of a second, doing so out of the second heat. Her 400m victory was close as well, with Cooper winning by almost one-fifth of a second. Cooper is now the second-fastest South Carolina girl of all-time, and the fastest since 2007. She's also the new state record holder, breaking a 16-year-old record from 2009.
Jasmine Robinson, North Cobb (Ga.): Making the trip all the way from Maryland, Cooper took care of business in the 100mH and 300mH at the Arcadia Invitational. The junior clocked a lifetime best of 13.22 in the shorter of the two races, finishing sixth-hundredths of a second back of the winner. Robinson followed up her second-place finish with a historic run in the 300mH, becoming the second-fastest performer in prep history, running 39.81 in her victory. Robinson broke the junior class national record in the event, and only trails Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (38.90) on the all-time list.
Olivia Cieslak, Haverford Township (Pa.): For the first time on the outdoor oval, Cieslak toed the line for a true mile at the Arcadia Invitational. The future Stanford Cardinal controlled the race from the get-go, taking the field out in a 71 before coming through 800m in 2:23.03. Despite falling to fourth during penultimate lap, Cieslak used a tremendous bell lap to hold off La Jolla's (Calif.) Chiara Dailey in 4:41.46. Not only was it a PB in the mile, but it also lowered her 1600m PB to 4:39.83, which is a national lead along with her mile mark. The senior now sits No.5 in state history in both events.
Emmry Ross, Onsted (Mich.): At the Napoleon Invitational in Michigan, Ross took her spot atop the national leaderboard in the 800m, stopping the clock at 2:03.84, the fastest time she's ever ran outdoors. Ross also won the 400m in 55.28, a third of a second shy of her lifetime best. In the 800m, Ross won by over 28 seconds, and built an 11-second lead in the 400m. She senior is now the state record holder in the two-lap sprint, and sits inside the top-25 for 400m.
