Another week, another slate of strong performances and shuffling throughout the national leaderboard.

A few familiar faces made their way back towards the top of the national lists, while others cemented themselves as championship contenders after dominating the field at their respective meets.

The National Performer of the Week poll will close at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, February 5, and the winner will be announced shortly after.

National Girls Indoor Performer of the Week (Jan. 26-Feb. 1)

This Week's Nominees:

Brady Pineo, Wesley Chapel (Fla.): Make that six wins in a row for the senior! At The Legends of Alachua County Invitational, Pineo threw down the national lead in the 200m, running 20.79, a new lifetime best. The senior won by over half a second and moved up to No. 4 all-time in state history, the fastest in Florida since 2023. Pineo moved past Tate Taylor to take the top spot on the national leaderboard and became the first high schooler under 20.8 this winter.

Malik Mohammed, West Side (N.J.): At the 11th Ocean Breeze Invitational in New York last weekend, Mohammed swept all three jumps titles, winning the triple, long, and high. In the triple jump, he added over a foot and a half to his SB, with a best mark of 46-5 (PB). In the long jump, he followed suit and set another lifetime best, this time jumping 23-6, over a foot farther than what he jumped at the end of December. Mohammed's third win came with a clearance of 6-8, tying his season-best performance in the process. Through two months of the season, Mohammed sits No. 5, No. 1, and No. 2 in New Jersey in the three jumps.

Nyan Brown, Mallard Creek (N.J.): Not a bad day for the senior at the Tobacco Road & Meck Power Six Conference Championships, as Brown won both the 500m and 55mH to pick up fifth and sixth wins in 12 races this season. In the 500m, he notched a PB of 1:03.96, the fifth-best mark in North Carolina so far, and 7.30 in the 55mH, a new state lead. Across the country, Brown is currently ranked No. 6 in the hurdles and is one of six boys to run 7.30 or quicker.

Luke Beattie, Warwick Valley (N.Y.): Over the course of the indoor season, only eight boys have jumped 17-0 or higher in the pole vault, and just three have cleared 17-4 or higher. The most recent athlete to join the club was Beattie, who did it at the Section 9 Class A Championship in West Point. The senior won by over four feet, on the same day he finished first and sixth in the 55m (6.45) and 300m (36.56). The future Tennessee Volunteer already owns the all-time state record, but now owns the second-best mark as well.

Rylan Hainje, Franklin Central (Ind.): In his first 60mH race since last March, Hainje left the Indiana Runner Indoor Invitational with a PB and a dominant win. Pulling away by nearly a third of a second, the senior made his way to the top of the state leaderboard, as well as the top of the state record books. Hainje took down John Peters' (Merrillville) record of 7.76 from a year ago, becoming the first Indiana high schooler to break 7.70.
