Nixa's Jackson Cantwell is among those recognized for NPOTW nominees for Week 10

In one of the last races of his junior campaign, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy's (PA) Stefon Dodoo became the seventh high schooler to break 1:50 over 800m this season.
Since then, three more athletes have done so.
At the PA Independent School Athletic Association Championship (PAISAA), Dodoo shaved over three seconds of from his previous season best, clocking 1:49.69 to successfully defend his 2023 title.
In one of the most dominating NPOTW polls we've seen this spring, Dodoo picked up 75.84-percent of the votes, beating out Karamoko Sacko, Northfield (CO) who collected 11.95-percent.
Just like last week, voting for this week's poll will close at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.

This Week's Nominees:
Ethan Walther, Salesianum School (DE): Adding his name to the growing list of high schooler under 1:50, Walther ended his in-state season with his 7th straight win in the 800m. Walther won at the DIAA Meet of Champions in 1:49.02, the fastest time of the season, and the new 800m state record. Walther also broke the 1600m state record earlier this month, running 4:08.91.
Victor Olesen, St. Christopher's (VA): The sophomore sensation kept his foot on the gas over the weekend, snagging the top spot in the nation's pole vault leaderboard. Olesen cleared 17-9.5 at the XHPV Summer Series Meet #1, just edging out Andover Central's (KS) Bryce Barkdull who had cleared 17-9 just a few weeks ago. According to MileSplit's database, Olesen is one 18-0 clearance away from matching Mondo Duplantis' sophomore class record.
Drew Griffith, Butler (PA): Griffith had arguably the greatest distance double of the season, winning both the 1600m and 3200m at the PIAA Track & Field State Championships. Griffith clocked 8:43.72 over eight laps to win by ten seconds, breaking the meet record along the way. The day before, Griffith broke Alan Webb's national record in the 1600m, breaking the tape in 3:57.08.
Jackson Cantwell, Nixa (MO): The perfect ending to a perfect season, one of the greatest throwers in American history concluded his sophomore season with a pair of state titles. Cantwell threw 71-11 in the shot put to win by 15 feet, as well 203-3 in the discus to win by 10 feet. Cantwell's short career has been nothing short of legendary, as he's yet to lose any of his 18 shot put competitions, as well as the state record.
Bronson Krainak, Danville Area (PA): One of the two throwers to grace this list, Krainak won his first state title at the PIAA Track & Field Championships over the weekend. Krainak, a Wichita State commit, won with a throw of 215-7, missing his PB by merely an inch. Krainak tallied just a singular loss this season, winning the other 11, including the Penn Relays title. Krainak currently sits No. 4 in the nation heading into the out-of-state postseason
