It's Jason Parra's World, And We're Just Living In It Right Now
- - -
If somehow you are on this site and you still weren't aware, Jason Parra is a rock star.
The Millikan senior, who was profiled by MileSplit this week and is ranked No. 18 in our preseason national rankings, produced the nation's No. 1 3-mile time on Saturday at the Rosemead Invitational, galloping through the course in 14:04.6 -- though it finished on the track.
Cleveland's Joseph Vargas was the next fastest-competitor at 14:30.1.
That's a pretty ridiculous time, especially since it comes a week. before the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic, where Parra is also entered is hoping to go after -- at the very least -- his performance last year in 13:56.50.
His time of 14:04 would be among the top 50 performances for 3-miles all-time, and top 21 in California, had Parra not run faster before.
Next weekend, he has a chance to possibly go after 13:50, which only nine athletes have achieved all-time. Keep your eyes peeled for another stunner.
