It usually takes time for freshmen to adjust to college, where they face a transition to a new environment and much better competition than they faced in high school. Still, several have excelled and already proved they belong at the highest level of college track.

Below, we look at five true freshmen women who found success at this past weekend's conference meets. We examined results from the so-called Power Five conferences: ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC.

This list only includes women who competed at the high school level in the U.S. and were part of the high school class of 2022.
