AUSTIN, Tx. -- Chase Lehr knew it was his race to win, and by event's end at the Texas State Outdoor Track and Field Championships, he had secured it.
The Breckenridge (TX) senior defended his Class 3A 800m title on Thursday, clocking a Texas No. 3 time of 1:51.82, which was also a new career best and a top 30 time nationally.
Lehr saved his best for last, dipping under 1:52 for the first time in his career has he held off Lucas Rizo in second (1:53.27) and Grant Sims in third (1:56.57).
