The Brooks XC South Championship is quickly approaching. Slated for November 29th at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, North Carolina, the top runners in the South will clash for a coveted regional championship title and a qualifying spot at the Brooks XC National Championships in San Diego on December 13.

The Southern region is showing a mix of experience and rising talent this season, led by Averi Lowen (Bowdon, GA) at 16:36.80, who took first at the GHSA 1A Division 2 Sectional. Texas has also produced top times with Macy Wingard (Denton Braswell) and Laney Barnes (Cypress Woods), both posting under 17:10 at their state meets. Tennessee's Calysta Garmer and Carolina Areheart (Webb School of Knoxville) round out strong southern performances with sub-17:40 times.
