Down To The Wire At Apex Lions' Relays


It came down to a thousandth of a second to determine the winner of the boys 1,600m at the Apex Lions' Relays.

Sitting back in fifth coming off the final turn, Broughton's (NC) Will Venable sprinted down the home stretch with some epic speed. As he leaned at the finish line, he stopped the clock at 4:15.36 to edge out Zack Gilbertson of Pinecrest (NC) by three-thousandths of a second. 

Logan Dingman of Lake Norman (NC) was third in 4:15.83.
