No. 1: Saratoga Springs (NY)

Analysis: The reigning MileSplit50 Team of the Year returns four runners from last year's title at the NYSPHSAA Class A championships, including junior Emily Bush and sophomore Alycia Hart. The lineup beyond those two athletes, though, reveals a swath of depth for the New York program, which returns five runner with PRs under 19 minutes for 5K.

While the Blue Streaks ended their season at the Team New York Region -- which they won handily, their season also included wins at the New York Federation Championships and the Section 2 XC Championships. 

Biggest Question: How will Saratoga Springs fare on a cross country course outside New York for the first time since 2019?

This season will mark three seasons since the Blue Streaks last earned a national title at Team Nationals. But the rest of the country has caught up, at least in terms of ambition. New York has dominated at Team Nationals over its history. Will that continue in 2022?
