Analysis: It could be a big year for the North Carolina team in 2022. With six returners back from the team that won the NCHSAA Class 4A Championships a year ago, including senior Alyssa Preisano and junior Stella Kermes, the squad will be tough to beat.
Both Preisano and Kermes have clocked 5K times under 18 minutes for their careers, while the team's top five all sport times under 18:40 overall.
Biggest Question: In-state battles between Weddington and Cardinal Gibbons will pose a stiff test.
While Cuthbertson has the requisite talent and experience to defend their titles, they'll have to watch out for these two teams, which historically have been among North Carolina's elite.
