Juliette Whittaker of Mount De Sales Academy (MD) will make her season debut at Oatlands. She had season best times of 17:29 for 5K and 16:45.19 for three miles last season.

She had a standout winter and spring as she ran at the U.S. Olympic Trials and reached the 800m standard three times; she also ran a personal best of 2:01.15 at the John Hay Pennsylvania Distance Festival. In the mile, she set a new lifetime best of 4:48.65 at Brooks PR.

Despite having a limited cross country season last fall, she secured top-ranked performances on the track and showcased her strength and endurance over the last several months.

Sailor Eastman of Battlefield (VA) will compete against the Maryland standout. She opened her 2021 cross country season at the Great Meadow Invitational in 18:02. Last year, she was the runner-up at the VHSL Class 6A State Cross Country Meet. She has a personal best of 10:46.93 in the 3,200m. 

On the boys side, a Hungarian transfer Ferenc Kovacs of Woodberry Forest (VA) will line up this weekend. The sophomore transferred to the preparatory school and he already competed at the Woodberry Forest Cross Country Invitational. He won the 5K event in 16:34.88.

Kovac owns a personal best of 3:54 for the 1,500m. 

He will face Andrew Schell, Xavier Jemison, Nicholas Hayden, Nathaniel Woshner, and Owen McArdle for the title.
