The nation's No. 1 boy and girl discus thrower both reside in the lone star state.
Katy Taylor's Bryce Foster showed over a 12-foot improvement in this event. At the 19-6A District Meet, he launched a new personal best of 210-10, beating his 198-0.5 mark from the 2020 Katy ISD Bubba Fife Relays.
On the girl's side, Katy Cinco Ranch's Amelia Flynt stepped into the ring at the UIL 6A State Championship and threw over 170-0 for the second time this season. She won the state title with a new personal best of 173-7. Last year, her best throw of 152-3 was her only throw over 150-0.
