Jamie Alvizo - Skyridge (UT)

Coach Alvizo started with the Skyridge (UT) high school when it first opened in August 2016. And the team hit the ground running, quickly becoming none of the best programs in Utah and nationally. The school has had a boys or girls team represent it at every Utah cross country state meet in its five-year history.

This year, Alvizo coached the boys team, led by seniors Davin and Creed Thompson, to the school's first-ever cross country state title. In the process, the squad beat out perennial Utah and national powerhouse American Fork.

Skyridge attended two postseason meets and raced well against some of the best in the country. The boys started in Utah at Border Wars, where the guys team took home a third-place finish behind American Fork and Orem. The guys team then attended one of the biggest national-level meets of the season at the RunningLane National Cross Country Championships, placing fourth overall.
