* David-Smith caught up with MileSplit in 2018 after qualifying for Team Nationals

Julia David-Smith, Issaquah (WA)

David-Smith is the only athlete on this list who has not experienced a full 2020-2021 cross country yet.

That has been pushed for the winter months for the Washington athlete.

However, that hasn't stopped her from racing -- in September she won a race in Arizona in a personal best 17:01.91, then was second in a national field at the Desert Twilight Invite in October and was ninth at the AAU National Cross Country Championships in December.

Over her carer, David-Smith has been lights out, winning 21 races and qualifying for two national championship races -- in 2019 she finished as an All-American.

With one more regular season ahead of her, David-Smith has a chance to win her second consecutive title and finish her career out with four straight state championship qualifications.
