Mason Alexander (Southlake Carroll, TX)
In any given year, Southlake Carroll has a strong group of 10-12 guys who battle for a place in the top seven.
This year, that fact was no different. And it was Alexander who was the clutch guy for this team in the team's biggest meet of the season: the Texas UIL State Class 6A Championships. At the region meet, Alexander was the team's, seventh man. At the region meet El Paso Eastwood was within three points of Southlake, so it was going to be an even tougher battle at the UIL State meet with all of the top teams in Texas.
At state, Alexander came in clutch down the stretch and closed a compression of 41-seconds, helping the Dragons secure the Class 6A team title with 78 points. The team averaged 15:56 through five runners.
