Description: It's one of the biggest tests for Michigan teams in September ahead of the state championships in November, but this time there's a few elite teams from Ohio traveling in to compete, too. In the girls Spartan Elite race on Friday, No. 6 Beavercreek (OH) and Centerville (OH) will suit up and spar with Michigan's top programs, including No. 25 ranked East Grand Rapids (MI) and Ann Arbor Pioneer (MI). Individually, that race will include the likes of MileSplit50 No. 5 Taylor Ewert, MileSplit50 No. 6 Abby Vanderkooi, returning Foot Locker Nationals All-American Jaden Theis, Brooks PR mile winner Zofia Dudek, Emma Bucher and Julia Flynn.
The boys race will pit more a centralized matchup between East Grand Rapids star Evan Bishop -- the No. 8 ranked runner in the MileSplit50 -- against Dearborn Divine Child's Anthony and Michael Hancock. But it goes without saying that the race could be fast. Bishop finished just seventh in this race last year, but he leads all of Michigan in time thus far and has the motivation of being beaten by both Hancock brothers last year. Ann Arbor Pioneer graduate Nick Foster won this race in 15:09.20 in 2018.
