Description: The First to Finish Invitational will bring the heat on Saturday at Detweiller Park. On the girls front, No. 7 Naperville North, No. 9 Yorkville and Barrington are all on board. And this will present the first key matchup in the battle ground that is Illinois between the state's top two teams. While Naperville North was able to hold off No. 13 Edina last week in Iowa, Yorkville will be a considerably tougher draw without top runner Campbell Peterson. But according to a report, Yorkville will also be without one of its top runners, Kailey Fox, which could hurt. Regardless of how this race shakes out, it will be competitive -- and telling.
The boys race will not feature any nationally ranked teams, but consider that this race last year was the breakthrough effort for Glenbard West's Rory Cavan, who became a player on the national stage. Don't be surprised if a spectacular effort follows yet again out of the large school division of this race.
