It will be a busy weekend in Philadelphia. We'll try to stay abreast here of the results from Franklin Field.
Here are the boys notes:
- The boys 3K was a race at The Penn Relays. The first six finishers all reset the national rankings, with Northwood's (MD) Eldad Mulugeta scoring a winning time of 8:29.05. Saratoga Springs' Shea Weilbaker was second overall in 8:30.08, while Xavier's (CT) Robbie Cozean was third in 8:30.28. A total of 17 boys ran under 8:45.
- Bullis School's boys pocketed the nation's fourth best time in the 4x400, winning the championship race in 3:13.80 seconds.
- While Jamaican high school teams dominated in the 4x800 (Calabar was first in 7:36.61 and Kingston was second in 7:40.96), St. Benedict's Prep (NJ) hit a new US No. 1 with its third-place outing in 7:41.13.
- Saint Anthony's (NY) showed its dominance in the DMR, scoring a new US No. 1 with its time of 10:10.23, surging past second-place Bronxville (10:13.05) and third-place CBA (10:16.44).
- Canadian Foster Malleck ultimately won a tactical race in the boys mile, crossing the tape in 4:18.22, just ahead of Hopewell Valley's Sean Dolan (4:18.60).
- Brien McMahon's (CT) Justin Forde hit a new all conditions best in the triple jump, scoring a mark of 51-9.75.
