Aidan Puffer Sets Freshman Class Record In The 5K

It's been a few months since we last heard of Aidan Puffer, the standout freshman from Manchester (NH) High School who flourished in January with an superb effort in the 3K (8:47.95) at the Yale Track Classic.
Puffer had intended to compete at New Balance Nationals Indoor, though injury precautions kept him out of a potential effort.
Ultimately, it didn't take that long for the first-year to get back into the national discussion.
Puffer scored a freshman class record of 14:47.66 in the 5K on Thursday at the Connecticut Distance Festival at Xavier High School, finishing third overall in a talented field that saw US No. 8 and No. 11 times go down.
Puffer recorded a US No. 14 mark.
