Threats To Win: Morgan Smalls (NC), Aniella Delafosse (MD), Lauryn Harris (MD), Prommyse Hoosier (IN)

Analysis: The athlete to beat in this field is Morgan Smalls from North Carolina. Smalls threw down a monster jump of 19-11.25 to win the NCHSAA 4A Indoor State Championship Meet. That performance was exactly one month ago on Feb. 9. The long jump will be the junior's second event of three on the weekend, as she is set to compete in the high jump on Friday night, long jump on Saturday and triple jump on Sunday. She is the current favorite in this event, but there are a few others who could have big performances and pull off an upset.

Two names from Bullis School (MD) who could potentially win are Aniella Delafosse and Lauryn Harris. Delafosse has jumped 19-10 this season and Harris has a 19-8.5 jump to her name. Both athletes hit those marks to finish one-two respectively at The VA Showcase

Prommyse Hoosier from Indiana is another athlete who could podium with a big jump. Her current season best of 19-5 is ranked US No. 6, but she will be in the top four of the athletes who are competing. Behind Hoosier there are a handful of girls who have jumped 19-4 or better and should all be fighting for All-American positions.
