Saucony Flo50 US top 25 individuals: #6 Alek Parsons (Ogden/4A), #7 Garek Bielaczyc (East/4A), #14 Casey Clinger (American Fork/5A), #17 Will Handley (Timpanogos/4A), #23 Dallin Leatham (Viewmont/5A)

The rivalry between Parsons and Bielaczyc--the top two returners from last year's 4A state meet--has quickly blossomed into one of the best in the country. Parsons' 0.97-second win at last week's Region 5 meet was Bielaczyc's first and only loss of the year, and Bielaczyc's 41-second win at early September's Murray Invitational was Parsons's first and only loss of the year. You can check out the full history of their head-to-head battles here; Parsons has the upper hand at 11-8, though the duo is deadlocked at 3-3 in cross country since the beginning of the 2014 season.

If this meet is going to be sweet in a salty city, then this particular race is going to be incredibly spicy. Parsons and Bielaczyc are the top two returners and clear favorites, but Will Handley of Timpanogos beat both of them in the 3200 at the outdoor state meet in May.

Parsons-Bielaczyc-Handley is the best individual matchup of the day regardless of sex or classification, but it's not the only clash between nationally ranked individuals. #14 Casey Clinger of American Fork and #23 Dallin Leatham of Viewmont close out the day with a battle in the 5A race. Clinger is 7-1 against Leatham all-time, with the lone loss coming in September 2013 in a race where neither broke 18:30.
