Monroe Parker Invitational, VA

Coverage

Highlights

  • What a meet this was on the girls side! Foot Locker finalist Caroline Alcorta, West Springfield, dominated with a winning time of 16:58 on the 2.98 mile layout for #9 all-time on the course.  Want to be more impressed, most of the times faster than hers are from later season meets when it will be cooler and she will be more race-fit and savvy.  Oh boy!  Hannah Christen, Lake Braddock, was 2nd with a time of 17:28.  Lake Braddock girls won with 159 points.
  • On the boys side Louis Colson, Edison, had an impressive showing of his own, finishing with a 14:43 clocking that is #9 all-time on the course.  Of note is that Sean McGorty ran 14:50 at this same meet last year! And obviously the same applies with getting faster, as above with Alcorta.  MacKenzie Haight, George C. Marshall, was 2nd in 15:05 and Sean's brother Ryan McGorty was 3rd in 15:11.  Chantilly boys won with 88 points. 

 

Great Meadow Invitational, VA

Highlights

  • Foot Locker finalist Allie Klimkiewicz, Oakton, opened up her season with a sterling 18:17 clocking, the fastest 5k time in the state to date.  

 

Lutheran South Invitational, MO

Highlights

  • On friday night Foot Locker finalist Taylor Werner, St. Genevieve, won by nearly two minutes with a quick 18:10.37 finish as her team dominated with 17 points.  Taylor was 13th and an All-American last year at Foot Locker as a freshman.  Taylor's sister Shelby Werner was 7th and the final scorer for the squad.

Highlights

  • Blake Haney, Stockdale, blazed his way to the win in the boys JR/SR race with a quick 4k time of 12:10! Frosh Christian Ricketts, Arroyo Grande, won the freshman race with a 12:50 clocking, 2nd fastest on the day.
  • Talley Hill, Arroyo Grande, won the girls FR/SO race with the fastest time of the day, a 14:48 clocking.

 

Early Bird Invitational, CA

Highlights

  • Anna Maxwell, San Lorenzo Valley, won with ease on the 3 mile layout at Toro Park with a time of 17:23.  

 

Chick-Fil-A Invitational, WV

Coverage

Highlights

  • Matthew Brafford, George Washington, tied the course record in the boys varsity race with a quick 15:17.4 clocking, nearly a minute up on the competition.  The run surely makes him one to watch this season.  

 

Southlake Carroll Invitational, TX

Highlights

  • In the boys varsity 4A/5A race Austen Dalquist, Keller, won a narrow individual race in 15:25.90 while Jacob Pickle, Southlake Carroll, was 2nd in 15:28.50.  Teammate Connor Hendrickson was 3rd in 15:39.80 as Southlake Carroll dominated in the team race with 50 points over Keller, 93 points.  Their spread was 54 seconds.
  • Kellee McCann, Justin Northwest, won the individual varsity 4A/5A race with a time of 18:05.20.  Megan Montgomery, Lewisville Hebron, finished 2nd in 18:11.30.  Southlake Carroll edged Lewisville Hebron in the team battle with 62 points to 67.  

 

East Syracuse Minoa Invitational, NY

Highlights

  • Fayetteville-Manlius boys dominated and looked very good, sweeping the first 6 places for the win with 15 points and a 50 second spread.  Bryce Millar won individually with a time of 15:56.9.  
  • Fayetteville-Manlius girls also won with 25 points, helped by sweeping the top-3 places.  Their spread was 1:40 so they have some work to do in order to get that down, but it is still early.  Annika Avery won individually with a time of 18:18.

 

Tiffin Cross Country Carnival, OH

Highlights

  • Foot Locker finalist Nicholas Elswick, Chardon, won the D1 A race with a quick 15:12.90 clocking.  Michael Hall, Cincinnati St. Xavier, was 2nd in 15:32.08.  Cincinnati St. Xavier dominated the team race with 50 points and a 15:53.05 average.
  • In the girls D2 A race Sarah Kanney, Coldwater, won with the fastest time of the day, an 18:05.40 clocking.  Hannah Campbell, River Valley, was 2nd in 18:17.23.

 

Chickasaw Trails Invitational, AL

Coverage

Highlights

  • Coleman Churitch, Brentwood, won the boys 5-6A race with a time of 16:16.25.  Homewood won the team title with 125 points.
  • In the girls 5-6A race Kaitlin York, American Christian, won with a time of 18:34.19.  Brentwood won the team title with 64 points.

 

Mobile Challenge of Champions, AL

Coverage

Highlights

  • Fort Walton Beach, FL, dominated the boys race with a low stick of 35 points by sweeping spots 3-5.  Thomas Howell, Niceville, won the individual title with a time of 15:59.  
  • In the girls race Fort Walton Beach also won with 74 points.  Katie Mattox, Starkville, won individually with a time of 18:51.25.  

 

PTXC5, PA

Coverage

Highlights

  • Kennedy Weisner (Elk County Catholic) won the girls Gold race with a new course record clocking of 17:48.98, a dominating victory.  Pennsbury looked dominate over Central Bucks West with a score of 84 to 158.   
  • Dominic Deluca (Dallas) won an exciting boys battle with a quick clocking of 15:43.00 over the hilly layout.  Lower Dauphin won the team title with 74 points.

 

Red, White and Blue Classic, PA

Highlights

  • North Allegheny steamrolled the boys varsity race, scoring a mere 30 points with an average of 15:55 and a 20 second spread!  Colin Martin, Fox Chapel, won individually in 15:18 over Brent Kennedy, Kiski Area, 15:25. Colin's brother Ethan Martin was 3rd in 15:35 and NA swept the next 5 spots.  The 6 and 7 runners weren't far back, with a 1-7 spread of only 42 seconds.
  • Mt. Lebanon won the girls race with 92 points.  Kelsey Potts, Mt. Lebanon, won a tight race in 17:47 over frosh Marianne Abdalah, Vincentian Academy, in 17:49.

 

Tracy Walters Invitational, WA

Coverage

Highlights

  • Foot Locker finalist John Dressel cracked his season open with a blazing 15:00 on a fast course.  Kai Wilmot and Tanner Anderson were 2-3 for North Central with times of 15:17 and 15:33 respectively.  North Central dominated the team competition with a point total of 54 points.
  • Megan Beauchene, Kamiakin, won the girls race in 18:26.

Highlights

  • Jamie Kempfer, Festus, won the girls varsity race with a course record time of 18:26.79.  

 

Vineyard XC Invitational, MA

Coverage

Highlights

  • Abbie McNulty, Bishop Feehan, dominated with a time of 17:32.14, 90 seconds ahead of 2nd place.  Bishop Feehan was equally as dominate, winning the team competition with a 29 point score.  
  • Connor James, Milton Academy, won the boys race in 16:33.47 as Bishop Feehan swept the team titles with score of 40 points.  

 

SCSDB Eye Opener, SC

Coverage

Highlights

  • Both the boys and girls varsity races were won in dominating fashion with Logan Morris winning the girls race in 18:35.79  with Makenzie Jones 2nd in 18:42.97.  James Quattlebaum won the boys race in 15:27.01 with Tanis Baldwin 2nd in 15:31.13.

 

Cherry Creek Invitational, CO

Highlights

  • Foot Locker finalist Jordyn Colter (Cherry Creek) won with a blazing early season time of 17:52.00.

 

St. Vrain Cross Country Invitational, CO

Coverage

Highlights

  • Katie Rainsberger, Air Academy HS, won in dominating fashion in the girls race with a time of 18:09 and was the only girl under 19:00.  Monarch girls prevailed over Pine Creek by a score of 47 to 86.  
  • Cerake Geberkidane, Denver East, won the boys 4A5A race with a quick 15:15 clocking.  Mountain Vista dominated the team scoring, winning with 51 points.

 

Katie Caples Invitational, FL

Coverage

Highlights

  • Brandon Marquez, TImber Creek, won the boys elite race in 16:14.  Trinity Prep won the team title with 86 points.
  • Karen Kiang, Nease, won the girls elite race over Julie Wollrath, Holy Trinity Academy, with times of 18:52 and 19:06 respectively.

 

Mason Cross Country Invitational, OH

Highlights

  • Annie Heffernan, St. Ursula Academy, won the girls Varsity 1 race with a quick time of 18:09.32.  Christine Frederick, Ursuline Academy, was 2nd in 18:29.83.  

 

Great Cow Run, CA

Highlights

  • Redondo Union boys slipped past Loyola in a heated race with 84 points to 87.  Austin Tamagno, Brea Olinda, torched a 14:31 on the 3 mile layout for the Soph class record and only slower than Elias Gedyon has run on the course.  
  • In the girls competition King beats Long Beach Poly narrowly, 85 to 86.  Kimberly Coscia, South Torrance, won in 17:54 while Alyssa Allen, Cypress, was 2nd in 18:06.

 

Saugus Showdown, CA

 

Highlights

  • Saugus girls defeated Great Oak girls by a final score of 29 to 44, defending their turf and proving their mettle.  Samantha Ortego led the way with her individual victory, clocked in 17:59 to tie the course record. 

 

Seaside Invitational, CA

Highlights

  • Foot Locker finalist Marissa Williams, Palisades, won the girls Junior race on a quick 3 mile course with a time of 16:40, the fastest of the day.  Caroline Pietrzyk, Malibu, was 2nd in an also great time of 16:52.40.
  • In the boys Senior race Sahm Bazargan, Oak Park, won with the fastest time of the day, a 14:28.10 clocking.  Michael Picchini, Moorpark, and Danny Garcia, McFarland, battled for 2nd and 3rd respectively with times of 14:34 and 14:34.90.

 

Hinsdale Red Devil-Hornet Invitational, IL

Coverage

Highlights

  • Hinsdale Central won the boys race with 59 points as they also took the individual champ with Bill Magnesen winning in 14:50.5 over the three mile layout.  
  • For the girls Palatine won with 59 points as Alexa Haff (Hinsdale Central) won in 17:29.88.
