Vanderkooi Going Koo-razy On XC Courses Thus Far

It's official now.
Abby Vanderkooi could be the best freshman runner in the country in 2018.
The Muskegon Western Michigan Christian High School freshman followed her impressive 2018 debut at the Orchard View Cardinal Invitational last week with an even better performance on Saturday.
Vanderkooi, who garnered an 152 speed rating for her performance on Aug. 20, dropped a sub-17 time of 16:57.65 at the Muskegon Catholic Central Invitational. That time would have placed 13th in the boys race.
There's no doubt, Vanderkooi is on another level.
Her time was roughy 2:06 faster than the second-place runner.
