* Central Lyon senior Gable Sieperda, an Iowa State signee, set a Class 1A record on Thursday in the 3200m. 

1. Davenport Central senior Lea Grady powered for a US No. 34 throw of 150-11 to win the Class 1A discus throw. 

2. Kingsley-Pierson senior Nick Phelps earned a bit of redemption in the shot put after finishing third as a junior, scoring a top Class 2A throw of 67-2 to win his second championship in three seasons. It also marked a career best for Phelps, who's previous No. 1 mark was 66-5.5.

3. Bedford junior Emma Lucas won the Class 1A 3K in a US No. 34 time of 10:04.31. It finished as the top overall time among all classifications. 

4. Central Lyon senior Gable Sieperda (above), won his third title in fourth seasons in the 3200m, scoring a Class 1A record time of 9:09.60 -- it was also the top time among all classes. Sierperda also finished eighth in the 400m and also is vying for titles in the 800m and 1600m on Saturday. 

5. Southeast Polk senior Sydney Milani had quite the day, posting two prelim bests: A US No. 19 wind-legal time of (-1.9) 23.93 in the prelims of the 200m and the top overall time in the 100m prelims in 11.92 (-2.2). But her best effort came in the 400m, where she marked a US No. 5 time of 52.92. It marked her first title at the distance and a career PR. 

6. Iowa City West senior Austin West produced the top overall time among all classes in the 400m, winning a Class 4A title in 47.94 seconds.
