Williams And Carter Earn Boost Games 100m Titles

The adidas Boost Boston Games boys and girls Dream 100m put on a show Sunday on Charles Street in Boston, Massachusetts.

The girls race was up first where Briana Williams, the current No. 1 100m runner in the nation, proved why she holds that distinction. Williams got out of the blocks faster than the rest of the field and finished the race well running 11.35 (+0.7).

This is not the sophomore's fastest time of the year as she ran 11.13 (+1.7) back in the beginning of March at the Bob Hayes Invitational. Nonetheless, the time would currently rank US No. 3. Finishing in second was Kelly Rowe, a senior from Mansfield Lake Ridge, Texas. Rowe ran a new wind-legal PR of 11.71. It is her second runner-up finish in a row as she was the runner-up just last weekend in the University Interscholastic League Class 5A State Championships. Rounding out the top three in the Dream 100m was Kennedale (TX) sophomore Alexis Brown who clocked in at 11.73.

In the boys 100m there was a down to the wire race between The Woodlands (TX) KeSean Carter and Dock Mennonite Academy's (PA) Austin Kratz. Carter had a great start getting out well which would help him to take home the win running 10.31 (+0.8). Kratz had quite the race himself, coming on strong at the end to finish second in a new wind-legal PR of 10.33.

Carlon Hosten from Taft Educational Campus in New York placed third running 10.61.
