When it comes down to one final move this fall, who's going to have the kick to surge ahead?

We've looked at the best open 400m and 800m splits of the top returners in the boys 5K heading into the 2018 cross country season to determine what we may see out there on grass. Keep in mind, our statistics are based on times we have in our system and the lists are calculated based on current times from the past season.

So who's got the best kick?

Based on data we've polled, that should belong to Passaic (NJ) High School's Luis Peralta, who scored a 48.7 in the 400m and 1:49.10 at New Balance Nationals Outdoor this past spring. As a junior last year, Peralta won his section, was seventh at the Group Championships and 24th at the Meet of Champions. But this year we're hoping he makes the next step and gets in race with some of the nation's best.

If nothing else, we want to see that kick in action. Check out the rest of the data below.
