Track Chats 2012

Welcome to Track Chats 2012! We start off with superstar sprinter Robin Reynolds from Miami Jackson HS in Florida. Robin has a 400m PR of 52.72 and a 23.60 clocking over 200m. She began the outdoor season at the Bob Hayes Invite with a 400 meter clocking of 53.28.

MileSplit - When & how did you get started in track & field

Robin - I started running track when I was 8 years old. My dad, Carl Cunningham use to coach Optimus football and I use to run with the boys when they were running for punishment. And his friend suggested I should run track, so my mom Robbie Cunningham took me to Moore Park and I began running for Miami Northwest Express Track Club and everything else is history.

Robin - The 400m is my ultimate favorite

Robin - Hard work and dedication, giving my all on every workout regardless of fatigue but most important staying motivated, having the ability to keep a positive attitude

Robin - Junior Olympics

Robin - International athletes that I raced against in France and Singapore

MileSplit - Your greatest experience in track & field so far?

Robin - Going to Singapore and representing USA at the first Youth Olympic Games (YOG) where I won a gold medal in the 400m and Sprint Medley

MileSplit - Goals for the 2012 track & field season?

Robin - Running a 52, breaking the state record in the 400m and jumping 20ft in Long Jump

MileSplit - Long-term goals in track & field?

Robin - One day make it to the Olympics and win the goal medal in the 400m
