Jeremiah Davis is slated to compete in the men's long jump, and comes in ranked 16th in the world.
As a high schooler in Florida, he dabbled in both hurdles and both horizontal jumps, but for the majority of his prep career, you could make the case that he was a triple jump specialist. As a junior, he only qualified for the state meet in the triple - he placed 10th with a leap of 13.42m. As a senior, he leveled up and won state in both horizontal jumps, then headed off to Florida State, where he still contested both jumps but began to demonstrate a particular knack for the long jump.
His NCAA career was by all accounts a solid one, but still, he never won an NCAA title. He placed second in the long jump at the collegiate championships in 2024, then came back for redemption at the Olympic Trials, which he won in a leap of 8.20m. As a pro, he's placed in the top-10 at two Diamond League meets, and even took fifth at this year's World Indoor championships.
