Four top up-and-coming underclassmen have wasted no time catching up with their respective state's best athletes.
Whether they posted huge PBs or upset the big dogs, they made their presence known.
Check out the second batch of 'Future Stars' of the 2025 outdoor season.
Mercer Island (Wash.)
Class of 2027
Over the weekend at the Oregon Relays, the Mercer Island standout ran 10:17.34 over 3200m. Rodriguez came through 3200m in 10:13.56, just three seconds shy of her PB. The sophomore is the new national leader in the 2 Mile and is ranked No. 6 in the 3200m. If she follows the same schedule that she raced a year ago, Rodriguez will chase a quick time at the 2025 Arcadia Invitational.
