For the past few years, North Carolina State has emerged as the premier women's distance program in the country.
The Wolfpack have won the past three NCAA cross country championships, joining Stanford (2005 to 2007) and Villanova (1989 to 1994) as the only women's teams to win three titles in a row.
NC State's success is in large part due to the recruiting and development efforts of head coach Laurie Henes and her staff. Well, that success may not soon fade. Most recently, the Wolfpack added another star in the Class of 2024, receiving a commitment from Belmont (MA) High School's Ellie Shea, MileSplit's No. 4 recruit.
Shea announced her college decision on Wednesday via the Instagram page of Emerging Elites, her club program. She will join NC State this fall and give the Wolfpack a chance at another national title.
