After winning the 110m hurdles and 300mH at the Arcadia Invitational early last month, Gilbert (AZ) High School senior Vance Nilsson reached out to coaches at the University of Florida.

For months, Nilsson and Jayson Vazquez, his coach on the AZ Flames club team, had discussed various colleges.

They called Florida the "Holy Grail of hurdling" and knew the Gators had a long history of developing top hurdlers such as Grant Holloway and Kerron Clement.
