As the 2024 outdoor season inches toward a close, which girls have improved the most year-over-year?

De'Kayla Simpson, a junior out of Duncanville (TX), sits at the top of our list. Finishing the 2023 season with a 1:01.18, she dropped down to a new personal best of 53.64.

That's a huge improvement of 7.54 seconds. This season, Simpson now sits tied at No. 18 in the national rankings for the 400m distance.

On the boys side, Katy Cinco Ranch (TX) senior Kevin Bello holds the most improved title, holding a current best time of 46.04. Bello now sits at U.S. No.6 for the event this season.

Take a look at both lists of the Top 500 most improved 400m athletes down below.
