Bullis School (MD) sophomore superstar Quincy Wilson nearly broke the 400 meter sophomore record of 45.12 last weekend, clocking a time of 45.19 at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Florida.

Wilson's stellar performance moved him into a tie for the eighth-fastest time in high school history. It also set a new Maryland state record and was nearly a second ahead of the next-fastest time in state history.

Winners of our indoor NPOTW program will receive a Firefly Recovery starter kit from our presenting sponsor. For athletes interested in Firefly Recovery, you can also use promo code MILESPLIT to receive 15-percent off any Firefly Recovery Starter kit purchase.

Wilson was named the National Boys Performer of the Week presented by Firefly in one of the most dominant votes in recent memory, picking up 90.5-percent of the votes. Trinity Academy's (KS) Clay Shively was second.

Just like last week, voting will close on Friday at 12:00 p.m.

Vance Nilsson, Gilbert (AZ): The star hurdler picked up a pair of wins at the Arcadia Invitational, winning both the 110mH and 300mH in nation-leading times. Nilsson won the 110mH in a wind legal 13.54 and followed it up with a 36.29 win in the 300mH. Nilsson is now a perfect 9-0 in the hurdles this year.

Patrick Hilby, Aurora Central Catholic (IL): What better place to run under 1:50 than at Arcadia. The half-mile specialist threw down a 1:49.47 to win by four-tenths of a second in a field that saw five boys go under 1:51. Hilby has yet to lose over 800m this season and is one of just three athletes this outdoor season to run under 1:50.

Daniel Simmons, American Fork (UT): The two-time defending Gatorade Player of the Year had a successful business trip to Southern California, leaving with wins in the 3,200m and the 4x1,600m. Simmons' weekend got off to a fast start when the Cavemen threw down a 16:47 in the 4x1,600m, establishing themselves as the No. 2 performance of all-time, trailing their program's national record performance from 2017. Simmons followed up his strong anchor leg with a blazing 8:34.14 in the 3,200m, which was the fifth-fastest time in high school history as he led 37 boys under 9:00.

Jayden Keys, Katy Tompkins (TX): After one week of competition in April, Keys sits alone at the top of the national long jump leaderboard thanks to his mark of 25-3 at the UIL 6A-District 19 meet over the weekend. Keys also finished first and second in the 110mH and 300mH, clocking 13.44w and 37.26. Keys is an all-around star, tallying a crisp 19-4 record over the three events this season.

Benjamin Shue, Bergen Catholic (NJ): The junior thrower traveled over 2,700 miles last week to compete at Arcadia and it was more than worth it as he left California with two wins. Shue heaved the discus 200-3, putting himself at the top of the national list as the lone athlete over 200-0. Shue also picked up the win in the shot put over the weekend, with the 10th best throw in the country. Shue is a perfect 4-0 in the throws this outdoor season, and will surely continue to improve.
