Sadie Engelhardt visited NC State in early September, then Oregon later in the month, Virginia in October and Stanford in January. She made her college decision in March.

In early March, Sadie Engelhardt was at her boyfriend Henry's home with his parents. Engelhardt, a star runner at Ventura (CA) High School and MileSplit's No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2025, called North Carolina State head coach Laurie Henes.

"I was like, 'We're just over here at Henry's house celebrating,'" Engelhardt said. "I said that twice because she thought I was going to finish my sentence.

"I was trying to make her say, 'What?' She was like, 'Celebrating what?' I was like, 'Oh, I'm going to NC State.' It was super fun. She was very excited."
