Which high school athletes have improved the most in the shot put?

We have some numbers for you. 

Johnathan Brown, a junior out of Rutland High School (GA), had a PB of 26 feet, 1 inch entering his junior season. Over the span of just three meets in 2024, he's already broken that on three separate occasions, etching a new PB of 48-11.

That's a staggering 22 feet and 10 inches of improvement. He's nearly doubled his personal best from last year.

Current U.S. No. 1 Brandon Schirck, a senior at Friendswood (TX), has a season best of 66-3, which is an improvement of nearly four feet from his best a year ago. The biggest improver on the girls side is West Brunswick's (NC) R'tasia Bellamy, who heaved a new PB of 37-8.75 just last month.
