While some states have already dipped their toes in the water of the 2024 outdoor season, the majority of the country is ramping up for the start of it.
The spring season is just around the corner.
With that being said, we thought we'd take a look at the nation's top boys teams and see who has the best returning contingent in the 1,600m.
As the only team in the country to have four returners under 4:20, Downers Grove North (IL) already looks like a pre-season favorite in the 4x1600m relay.
Led by Ryan Eddington in 4:07.91, DGN also features Caden Weber, Grant Schroder and Zachary Bender and the trio follows with PRs of 4:12.63, 4:18.74 and 4:18.82.
The foursome combines on paper for 16:58.1 and is the only program in the country under 17:00.
The current national record in the 4x1,600m is held by American Fork (UT) and stands at 16:41.3. That won't be an easy...
