Watch IMG Academy run 8:40.91 to win the Penn Relays Championship of American 4x800m Finals
The IMG Academy (FL) team of Mackenzie Winning, Danielle Graham, Mia Dunavant and Aurora Bertelsen Del Solar won back to back Championship of America 4x800m at the Penn Relays.
In 2025 they took a 6 second win over Jamaica's Alphansus Davis in 8:40.51 to 8:46.23. Today, they'd hand off in first place and extend their lead throughout to go back to back running 8:40.91 leading at every exchange.
Yesterday the High School Girls 4x800m would kick off the track action and IMG Academy would win their heat in 9:05.28 running pretty conservative to win their heat narrowly over Central Bucks East who took 2nd in 9:05.89.
Winning would start IMG off with the lead opening in 2:10.46 in the 12 team final with only Edwin Allen (JAM) nearby who came through in 2:11.72. Danielle Graham would get the baton in 2nd and really open things up with a 2:06.58 leg to be 8 seconds ahead of Edwin Allen who had Penn Charter (PA), Upper Dublin (PA), Sydney Pagon Stem (JAM) and South Lakes (VA) in striking distance in what looked to be a battle for 2nd.
Dunavant would run a 2:15.60 on the third leg as IMG held an 8 second lead with a 2:06.80 open 800m runner in Bertelsen Del Solar on the anchor leg. She would run the fastest anchor leg of the field to bring IMG Academy home in a massive victory running 2:08.29 for a total time of 2:08.29.
Gwen Hamilton of Penn Charter would get the baton in 2nd and extend their lead to take 2nd over Edwin Allen in 8:49.73 to 8:56.07.
