Brayden Richards always thought he would play football or basketball in college.
He had excelled in both as a child and it was only natural that those were the sports he focused on when he entered Perry (OH) High School in the fall of 2020.
That never changed throughout his high school tenure. Richards continued to have success in both sports in high school, gaining All-Ohio honors and leading his team to a state football title this fall; he also scored his 1,000th career point in basketball last month.
Still, Richards doesn't plan on playing either of those sports in college. Instead, it's to the oval, where he will compete in the decathlon for the Air Force Academy.
