The College Football National Championship game features the champions of the Big Ten and No.1-ranked Michigan against the champions of the Pac-12 and No.2-ranked Washington at NRG Stadium on Jan. 8 in Houston, Texas.

In what will be a future matchup between conference rivals, as Washington will join the Big Ten later this year, the game features a pair of undefeated, 14-0 teams.
Michigan hung on to beat college football superpower Alabama in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, which while Washington also made a final-play stop in the Sugar Bowl to beat Texas.

While the championship game at NRG Stadium figures to be a closely contested matchup, a scan of both rosters reveals a fairly even track and field DNA.

Of the 144 players on Michigan's roster, 68 of them (47.5%) competed in track and field during high school. Washington's 119-man roster includes 54 players (45.7%) who were scholastic track athletes.
