It's still early in the high school cross country season. The national meets are more than two months away. Still, some of the top distance recruits in the Class of 2024 have already committed to colleges.

Below, we look at three men's programs that have secured early commitments from elite senior cross country stars. High schoolers can begin signing their National Letter of Intents on Nov. 8, making their decisions official.


Brigham Young University

Daniel Simmons and Landon Heemeyer, the top two runners in MileSplit's top 25 cross country rankings, have both committed to BYU.

Simmons runs at American Fork High School in Utah, which is about 15 miles from BYU's campus in Provo. He is MileSplit's No. 3 recruit in the Class of 2024, only behind sprinters Christian Miller of Creekside (FL) and Gatlin Bair of Burley ...
