The Preseason MileSplit50 Top 25 Boys Team Rankings

No. 20: Portland Jesuit (OR)

- - -

Analysis: The races that matter are always in November and December.

When those months arrive, Portland Jesuit is always one of those teams that finds itself in the mix. That's not by accident. The squad has won the last two Class 6A titles in 2022 and 2021.

So while Jesuit graduates three out of its top four, don't expect this program to slide. The defending Nike Cross National runner-ups are still capable of making a deep run at the state championships, regionals and nationals. They'll likely lean on senior Caden Swanson, who finished eighth at states last year and 52nd at NXN.

But from there, Jesuit can turn to three more up-and-coming athletes like Matthew Wroblewski -- the fastest freshman finisher at NXN last year -- and junior Coen Strub and senior Ethan Strong.

Biggest Question: Can this team find a strong front three to build around?

Swanson and Wroblewski are likely the top candidates here. But does Jesuit have a third runner who can become a leader runner? If Jesuit's depth holds strong in 2023, expect this team to fly this fall in Oregon and beyond.
