Analysis: This Tennessee program was undoubtedly the best in the state last year.
Returning champions from TSSAA Division 2, McCallie School was faster than Division I champs Farragut, better than familiar-faces like Brentwood and Brentwood Academy and better-on-the-day than Christian Brothers, which may offer some competition in 2023.
Just how will this team reload from last fall? With five runners back, we think quite well. The team's No. 1, junior Jack Brown, the squad has a legitimate front-runner who can set the tone up front.
Biggest Question: Can they hold off the rest of Tennessee?
While McCallie School won the state's toughest battle last year, no guarantees will be granted to the program in 2023. Brentwood and Brentwood Academy always churn out talent and Christian Brothers seems to be a real threat to compete for a title this fall.
