Sophia Rodriguez, Dallastown (PA)

Events: Girls 800m, 1,500m

At this point, we're all quite familiar with Sophia Rodriguez.

The 14-year-old and recent Dallastown (PA) eighth-grade grad was not just the top middle school distance athlete in the country this year, but one of the best in the world.

She set two world age 14 records on the track this spring, including a 16:22.30 5,000m effort at the John Hay Pennsylvania Distance Festival and a 10:12.33 2-mile at Nike Outdoor Nationals this past Saturday.

Prior to that 10:12.33 race for 2 miles, she already held the 14-year-old age group record for the distance from when she ran 10:20.68 at Nike Indoor Nationals in March.

It's been a rather busy month for Rodriguez, who raced both the 2-mile at Nike and the 1-mile for the middle school division at the Brooks PR Invitational last Wednesday. But she's not done with her season yet as she looks to crank out some 800m and 1,500m PRs in Bermuda this weekend before likely gearing up for her first summer of high school cross country training.

Charles Bissonnette, Riverside (SC)

Event: Boys Discus

The South Carolina state discus champion will make the trip across the Atlantic looking for new PRs.

It's been a monumental year for Bissonnette as the senior won a SCHSL 4A state title in the discus with a 181-2 mark back in May. A 183-0 personal best from the Greenville County Varsity Championships in April ranks him a the top discus thrower in the state of South Carolina this spring.

It's over a month now since that state championship effort -- which also happens to be the last meet he's contested -- but look for Bissonnette to hunt for a new personal best at the Bermuda Challenge this weekend.

Nina Dominique, Charlotte Christian (NC)

Events: Girls 100m, Long Jump

Fresh off an impressive performance at adidas Outdoor Nationals, Dominque will hope to do the same in Bermuda.

The Charlotte Christian (NC) sophomore has developed into one of the top sprint talents for her grade this outdoor season, sitting among the top 25 in both the 100m and 200m national rankings for 10th graders. And she just logged one of the best competitions of her life, too, as Dominique ran 24.36 (+0.2) for 200m and 11.59 (+3.1) at adidas over the weekend.

Her 100m performance even earned her a third-place finish in the championship section in Greensboro.

Dominique enters as the top seed in the 100m for the Bermuda Challenge, and will even try out the long jump this upcoming weekend.

Brandon McClary, Hickory Ridge (NC)

Events: Boys 100m, 400m

McClary could be looking out for a breakout moment at the Bermuda Challenge in the sprints.

A junior from Hickory Ridge (NC), McClary holds personal bests of 10.61 for the 100m and 21.91 at 200m, both of which he clocked at the NCHSAA 4A Midwest Regional Championships in May. He also competed at adidas Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro where he went 10.85 (+0.9) in the prelims of the championship division.

Not only will McClary contest the 100m, but he'll move up to the 400m as well to test his endurance. He's the top seed in the 100m and will likely challenge as a title contender at the longer 400m distance, too.

Victoria Rodriguez, Dallastown (PA)

Events: Girls 800m, 1,500m

Sophia Rodriguez won't be the only member of her family toeing the line in Bermuda this weekend.

Her older sister, Victoria, will also compete in the 800m and 1,500m and has developed into a star in her own right in Pennsylvania this year.

The Dallastown sophomore put together a 1,600m-3,200m double effort at the PIAA State Championships last month, and she did so in PR-setting fashion. 5:00.09 for 1,600m and 10:51.78 at 3,200m earned her significant career outdoor bests in her first time ever competing at the outdoor state championships.

This weekend, she and her sister will go head-to-head looking for wins and more personal records in the 800m and 1,500m.
