Even before entering high school and becoming top college recruits, Wesley Noble and Bryce Tucker competed against each other.
At the 2019 Hershey Youth Indoor National Championships when they were in eighth grade, Noble finished first and Tucker placed second in the 400m.
That weekend, Noble also won the 200m and anchored his team's winning 4x200 relay, while Tucker won the high jump and was part of a team that finished second in the 4x200 relay. It was a sign of things to come, as both Noble and Tucker continued excelling on local and national stages in high school.
In the fall, instead of being competitors, the two will be teammates for the first time.
They have both signed to run at Rutgers University, a program that has struggled in the Big Ten Conference but has put together two consecutive impressive recruiting classes.
